Biodynamic agriculture is a method of Organic farming that applies a holistic understanding of life processes. As one of the first sustainable agriculture movements, it treats soil fertility, plant growth, and livestock care as ecologically interrelated tasks emphasizing spiritual and cosmic perspectives. Sekem was founded on these principles of holistic and sustainable approach to organic agriculture and shares our values and commitment to sustainability. Workers at the Sekem farm receive on-site healthcare, daycare and school for their children, as well as daily organic meals that are made from food grown right there on the farm. In 2015, Sekem received The Land For Life Award from the United Nations Convention on Combating Desertification (UNCCD).
