An excellent little guidebook. The background to the Armada is well-explained as is its progress up the Channel described in the words of an unknown author, thought to be the then Lord High Admiral, Lord Howard of Effingham. However, I would have liked to have known more about the text and its probable author(s). It is also unlikely to have been the only near-contemporary account of the Armada, English or Spanish. In fact, the booklet also deserves more in the way of references and a bibliography. Maybe time and funds were limiting.
